Amazing facts about Milky way(galaxy)🌌🌃
Our Milky way galaxy is going to collide with the Andromeda Galaxy in about 4.5 billion years.
The Andromeda galaxy is currently 2.5 million light years away from our galaxy and moving at a speed of 11 km/s, which is very very slow as compared to universal speeds. It is so slow that to an average span of human life it seems stable. It means you can spend your whole life time staring at the galaxy but you will not be able see any change.
To us it will always look like this:
Now, you might think what about the stars in both the galaxies, will they collide into each other after the collision?
Well, the interesting fact is that, both the galaxies Andromdea and Milky way are so vast that when they collide(4.5 billion years later) there are a lot of chances that both the galaxies will merge into each other with very less amount of stars colliding into each other.
This is because , though from earth it might seem to us that the milky way has a lot of stars in it (milky way has around 100 billion stars and the Andromeda has over 300 billion stars) but all are separated in many lightyears of distance. So, not all the stars will collide into each other.
But, unluckily we will not live so long to see that, even our earth will not live so long. Our earth will die in around 1 million years before the collision.
